It has real depth and complexity through the use of 34 botanicals. Barney makes this superb and much loved product by hand in the house where he grew up, in the gorgeous Cotswolds. Using locally sourced and grown products in a secret recipe, flavours such as blood orange, flowers, spice, berries, pine and sweetness are delivered in tasting.

Our half Scottish MD's favourite gin
The Capreolus distillery run by owner and distiller Barney Wilczak sits in an old lean to greenhouse of his childhood home. Set in the gorgeous Cotswolds, he uses only local fruits especially some rare varieties never distilled before. Mix this with the unique terroir, both in landscape and maritime climate, meant Barney could focus on spirits that revealed both heritage and locale.
The name Capreolus is latin, if you hadn't guessed ... it is the latin for a beautiful deer, the roe Capreolus capreolus. A delicate creature often a accompaniment when picking the fruit in the surrounding countryside.
