Yep, Essex Spirit Co couldn't help ourselves, they had to create their own take on the British staple of sloe gin!
So, what's winter cup & why is it different?
A botanically rich gin that has been proofed down to a very approachable 25% ABV. Next it is soaked in locally picked Sloe berries & Damsons (a damson is a lot like a sloe, but larger & with more plum like tastes). After a long period of steeping, they remove the beautiful red gin & add in a pinch of cinnamon, cloves & orange peel for a second maceration.
Essex Spirit Co then sweeten this beautiful sloe, damson & spice gin mix with pure demerara sugar (but still a lot less than your usual sloe gin - making this a much less 'syrupy' than your traditional sloe gin).
