The ties that bind the Vollereaux family to the earth and the grapevines is centuries old. The story of the men and women who created Vollereaux champagne starts at the dawn of the 19th century — in 1805. In Pierre et Moussy in the heart of the Champagne region, the family’s first generation planted and tended its grapevines and began writing the story of our champagne. The first turning point in the family saga came at the end of the Great War. It was a time when many winemakers busied themselves to erase the traces of the war. The incessant work undertaken by the new generation, led by Victor Vollereaux, a direct descendant of this family of grape growers settled in the Marne Valley for over a century, would restore the vineyard to its full potential. In that climate of rebirth and renewed hope, Victor decided to promote his champagne himself. The first wine was drawn off in 1923. The first bottles were tasted amongst friends and family. The tradition was repeated year after year.
